1) As you already know, The Open Vein is going to be publishing a Christmas issue in the early part of December, and spots are filling up! We're only going to feature five stories or so, and three are filled, so throw those horrifying yuletide yarns my way soon! Please see our website for submission details.
2) I am in the very, very first stages of considering opening a small press under The Open Vein imprint, that will be dedicated to publishing small print runs of horror/bizarro/black comedy pieces of novella length. I would be paying authors for their work, publishing 1 to 3 books a year, at about 200 books a print run. Should I do this, I would be very selective about what I published, looking for highly original horror, stacked with strange and grotesque ideas, with a twist of the hilarious. Right now, nothing at all is official and I'm just trying to feel my way around the pool, checking the width and depth, seeing if I'll sink or swim. I've met some extremely talented authors via The Open Vein and I think it's tragic that they're not published, so I'd like to help out those sorts of folks.
